This process adds more enzymes to the food, making it more flavorful. Adding successively smoother surfaces with each slide of the knife is what you are trying to achieve when doing this.

The second reason to have a serrated knife in your arsenal is for cutting flowers. Because flowers are delicate, having an even sharper knife will help you reduce risk of minor injuries.

The last reason to have a serated knife in your kitchen is for creating fine cuts on meat. Using a slightly less sharpened standard blade will help reduce chance of flat or sharp edge cutting through an object.

Serrated knives have a special way of creating a serration edge. This effect is created when the knife’s diamond-shaped blade is parallel to one of the knife’s sides, such as when you open an item or food item with one side much larger than the other.

When you cut on that large side, the sharpened edge digs into your skin and creates a saw-like motion. This is what creates the feel and look of a scimitar, as the blade is long and thin on one side.

The absence of a soft, rounded tip makes this knife less susceptible to Round Eye virus (EAV), also known as corona cauterizing agent (CAA). CAA can cause small cuts to enlarge into large gashes in vulnerable areas such as face, neck, chest, or genital area. EAV can spread quickly making it dangerous.

When looking at knives with serrated edges, it is important to look at the serration edge. A knife with a thick, long, curved serration edge can make the difference between easy and hard cuttings and slices.
